Updates
$10 late fee morning of tournament August 8th, 2010 Geist Reservoir. The fifth event of the 2010 season was held on Geist Reservoir. After the fifth event the anglers of the year race usually begins to start taking shape. This year there are more teams in position to make a run at the coveted title than any year before. This years race is definitely going to come down to the last event, if not to that last fish caught in the last few minutes, it is going to be really exciting. Everyone was really excited for the tournament as most usually are when you have a chance to fish on arguably the best fishery in the state. Nineteen teams rolled into participate in the event. It is August and the weather is suppose to be extremely hot, but no rain was predicted. Ronnie Hinesley and Fred Felix were on top of their game for this event, as they pulled away from the field with a five bass limit that weighed 15.95 lbs. They were also able to bring in the biggest bass of the tournament with a 4.24 lb. largemouth. It was a great day on the water for the team as they also jumped into first place in the overall point's race. Congratulations guys on a great day! In second place was the team of John Raines and Gordon Beck. John and Gordon also had a great day as they were able to bring in a limit that weighed 13.68. John and Gordon came down from Monticello to participate in the event and gain valuable travelers points. John and Teri Raines are the proud owners of Twin Lakes Fish & Game and one of our loyal sponsors. They are located in Monticello IN and if you have a chance to come up and vacation at Indiana Beach or fish on Lake Shafer or Lake Freeman, stop in and see them. In third place was the team of Nick Hammond and Pat Kaufman. Nick and Pat brought in a five fish limit that weighed 11.65 pounds. Nick is from Lafayette and Pat is from Monticello. I guess two of the top three teams were from Lafayette north this time, I guess the Yankee baits was what was working this tournament. Congratulations on a great day Nick and Pat. Rounding out the top five were the teams of Dan Guard and Wes Woodard and Justin Rusher and Mike Horning. Dan and Wes had 11.18 lbs. and Justin and Mike had 11.13 lbs. respectively. The next tournament for the Indianapolis division will be held Sunday September 19th, 2010 on Morse Reservoir. Special thanks goes out to all the wonderful sponsors of the Angler's Choice trail: Hinkle Construction, Lafayette Copier, High Tech Motor Sports, The Tire Barn, Main Street Station, Twin Lakes Fish & Game, Vision Floors and More, Westbrook Agency, and Trash Kans Inc.
